I finally got the tattoo!

Big news!!! My blog’s name is finally on my skin and everything is gaining even more meaning and sense.

I am happy about the outcome of the tattoo, and even happier that, after more than 7 months, I finally made a trip back to Italy, and managed to spend some time with family and friends.

It has been a while… My last trip in Italy was at the beginning of December last year, just a couple of weeks before the surgery.

I was feeling ok, considering what was going on, but I was literally a balloon, without hair, with all the possible side effects caused by 6 months of chemotherapy and anxious for the operation.

This time, a good extra 5cm of hair on top of my head, 16kg less on my body, a shining new and fake left boob, a tattoo and a reason to celebrate, made this trip way more pleasant!

You already know that this tattoo means a lot to me, I would have named this blog differently if it didn’t. Finally having it done, gave me a sort of closure for this journey.

I can’t pretend to close my cancer chapter for good, there are still too many checks and medications in the way but I can be proud of the big step I made towards life.

Back to Berlin, my days are slowly getting busier with exams and preparation in order to go back to work. I am very excited and anxious at the same time to be back to a kind of normal routine, even if in the middle of such abnormal times.

I already did a couple of exams and I have to say that I struggled a bit with tiredness and concentration… Can I still blame my chemo brain for this?

I guess it is quite normal to be confused and to feel out of my comfort zone after having spent the last year in PJ and sleepers, but I am confident I will find my place back very soon…

I have few new posts in preparation that I will publish soon: about hair loss, nutrition, and more… stay tuned! 😉
