Every case, every treatment and care program is different.
There is no better person than a doctor to give you all the technical and medical information that you need.
Therefore find a doctor you like and trust: if you don’t like the first one, ask for a second opinion. It is your life at stake and you need to be comfortable with the person guiding you along the way.
During the process ask as many questions as you want even if they sound stupid in your mind.
To me, everything happened quite fast: within 1 month from the very first visit and ultrasound, I was able to start the therapy program.
I was lucky enough to have, all considered, a “good” experience during the whole process.

1 – The one with the diagnosis
- 11/06/2019 First visit with my GP
- 13/06/2019 Ultrasound – Mammography – biopsy
- 18/06/2019 Biopsy results + Breast Center appointment – second ultrasound and many many appointments scheduled for the following weeks
- 19/06/2019 Scintigraphy
- 20/06/2019 Fertility clinic + Ct Scan
- 25/06/2019 DNA test
- 26/06/2019 Clip implantation
- 8/07/2019 Electrocardiogram
- 9/07/2019 Port implantation
- 16/07/2019 MRI
2 – The one with the Chemo
- 18/07/2019 – 30/08/2019 Chemo with Epirubicin and Cyclophosphamide + Granulocyte colony stimulating support. 4 sessions, one every 2 weeks.
- 12/09/2019 – 29/11/2019 12 weekly session of Paclitaxel
- In addition, some Ultrasound checks during chemo period to monitor the progress
3 – The one with the surgery
- 18/12/2019 Mapping of sentinel lymph nodes
- 19/12/2019 Surgery – Subcutaneous mastectomy with primary heterologous reconstruction and sentinel left
- 19/12/2019 – 24/12/2019 Hospitalization
- In addition, Ultrasound checks to monitor the wound and the implant
4 – The one with the after-surgery
- 30/01/2020 – 4/03/2020 Radiation Treatment, 5 weeks every day from monday to friday
- 4/03/2020 – still ongoing Zoladex injection every 4 weeks
- Tamoxifen every day
